Careerline

Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 27, 2026 · Applies to the “CareerLine for LinkedIn” Chrome extension

The short version: CareerLine has no server, no accounts, and no analytics. Everything it does — reading the profile you have open, drawing the visualization, storing your own profile and settings — happens locally in your browser. We never receive, collect, transmit, sell, or share any of your data.

What the extension processes, and where

Local storage

The extension uses Chrome’s local extension storage (chrome.storage.local) with three keys: myProfile (your saved profile), settings (display preferences), and quota (the daily view counter). This data never leaves your device, is not synced, and is removed when you uninstall the extension. You can also clear your saved profile at any time from the extension’s settings page.

What we never do

Share images and links

Share images are rendered locally on your device. A share link encodes the visualization data after the # in the URL, which browsers do not send to any server; the link only becomes visible to others if you yourself send it to them.
